While psychotherapy interventions are the first-line treatment for children experiencing mental health challenges, there are some cases where the course of action might include meds. This workshop will focus on sharing information about when medication may be considered in early childhood mental health.

— An experienced psychiatrist will talk about the assessment and decision-making process that is essential when working with young children
— We’ll discuss some of the most commonly used medications for specific diagnoses and address issues in working with parents so that they feel comfortable making decisions about medicating their child.
— Two clinical cases will be presented and Dr. Weis will participate in a dialogue about the cases.

Participants will have adequate time to ask questions and share additional case vignettes.

Cost: $80.00 (includes certificate of completion) for 3 CEU’s for Social Workers
