Ozempic and other weight loss drugs are not going away anytime soon. One in eight Americans are on or have tried these drugs. As clinicians we need to help our patients sort out the hype from the help.
Ozempic: What Psychotherapists Need to Know takes a deep dive into the controversy surrounding Ozempic and other weight loss drugs to help clinicians negotiate this new terrain with their patients. Using case examples from my practice, I explore the pros, the cons, and the key psychological dimensions of these medications. My workshop is the first to highlight Ozempic through a psychological lens.
Learning Objectives

- How to prepare patients for the emotions that may arise when they are not using food to self-medicate
- Recognize how the movements of body positivity, HAES (Health at Every Size), fat activism may be integrated with Ozempic
