COHERENCE THERAPY WAS DEVELOPED BY BRUCE ECKER. IT IS AN APPROACH KEEPING WITH RECENT NEUROSCIENCE FINDINGS ABOUT MEMORY RECONSOLIDATION THAT GETS TO THE ROOT OF ONE'S SYMPTOMS, MAKES SENSE OR COHERENCE OF IT, AND PROVIDES A PATHWAY TO REPLACE OLD CORE BELIEFS WITH NEW ADAPTIVE LEARNINGS

WE WILL DISCUSS THE BASIC THEORY, GIVING EXAMPLES TO HELP UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO AN ACTIVE GIVE AND TAKE WITH OUR MEMBERS.

Marilyn Sulzbacker is the director of Psychworks NY. Her private practice located in the Lincoln Center area is of individual and couples. Her initial psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy training has been augmented in the past decade by the new cutting edge therapies rooted in current neuroscience research. In this regard, she is a certified EMDR clinician, now in training to become a consultant. In addition she has been trained in internal family systems, sensorimotor psychotherapy and coherence therapy. She is also familiar with AEDP. Marilyn has been a social work field instructor and faculty adviser. She is also trained in critical incident stress debriefing and as a result has been doing individual and group crises intervention for various corporations. When she worked at Baltic Street Services of South Beach Psychiatric Center , she was co founder of a parent education center and the coordinator of the graduate education program for social workers, psychologists, nurses and creative artists. She misses the excitement of the creativity in doing this program development.
